Okay… so the plan was to post every day throughout the last 30 days leading into the Leadville 100 MTB race. BUT! For whatever strange reasons there may be lurking out there in the Universe to prevent me from doing such a noble thing, I seemed to have lost a week in there somewhere!
Does that ever happen to you?
SOOOO rather than rack my brain inward and outward trying to remember exactly everything I did over the past 7 days of cycling, I figured I would jump ahead to where I am TODAY.
Right now, aside from the burnout I mentioned in the last blog post, I am finding that sleep is trying to escape me. I am racking my brains all night long about Leadville and stressing about whether or not I am going to reach my goal of under 9 hours.
On the flip side, when I am up and about for the day I am continuing my research on the race and my strategy for tackling the beast. I know we all know this, but the BEST way to really make some fast progress in getting where you want to be is to find some mentors!
Talk with and learn from people who have done the race and have already accomplished what you are trying to accomplish… their knowledge is invaluable. No, their strategies may not necessarily work for you, but it’s still a great place to start! You can tweak what you need to do from there 🙂
I’m still riding every night of the week (except Sundays) and tackling a long ride on Saturdays. My body feels pretty good but my eating has been slacking a little. Time to get my wife involved in some serious bodily harm if I don’t get after it! LOL.
I am looking forward to getting to Leadville and finally pedaling all this tension out!
Here’s to another day of cycling strong!!
