My son, Cobe and I, made it to the Leadville Camp! We made a stop along the way in Fruita, Utah to ride some trails there because we have heard about how amazing it is… BUT the wind was so strong it didn’t end up being too much fun. I swear it was 50 mph!
We decided to go to Church on Sunday morning in Frisco….that was a great experience and well worth the stop.
AND then we finally pulled into Leadville and I was a little surprised. Honestly, I thought it would be more of a resort town, more similar to Jackson Hole, Wyoming or Banff in Canada. But… nope! It really is a small mining town!
I will post photos of some of the street views so you can get a feel for what it is like here!
We checked into our hotel and it definitely isn’t a Marriott! In fact, our room sort of reminds me of a room I would find at my Grandmother’s house… very homey. And PINK! 🙂 It turns out it is owned by the mother of the offensive lineman for the Patriots. Cobe particularly thinks that is pretty cool stuff.
Today is basically a “get into town” day, get settled into the hotel, and I believe we have a meet and greet and/or check-in for the camp a little later tonight. Looking forward to our first clinic tomorrow with Leadville Champions David Weims and Rebecca Rusch. Will post photos!
