This last weekend was an absolute blast. I have been building a fat bike (more photos to come) and picked up a Weehoo bike trailer for my little 3-yr-old. The trailer is a stable place for him to ride hands free – he can pedal if he wants to or can just sit back and eat some snacks.
I had a short mountain bike race in Park City, Utah with the Utah State Championship Series. My 13-yr-old, Cobe, was also signed up for his category in the race.
The day before the race we packed everything up and headed to Park City. We got there early enough that we decided to ride through the 8 mile course. My wife, Cobe, and Xander and I with the fat bike headed through the hills. I was absolutely amazed at how well the bike handled and Xander was having a blast!
The race wasn’t quite as fun, unfortunately. I got a flat tire at mile 2.5 and it was irreparable. Cobe, on the other hand, placed 2nd and keeps saying… “if only I had clipped in faster…”
Ah well – great times with family and bike racing!
