This last winter has been such a blast because I have been able to get outside in the SNOW and ride a bike! Of course I am looking forward to warmer weather and not having to freeze during a race, but getting out and about on a beautiful winter day was still loads of fun.
When I first started riding my Fat Bike I used a boot I got from Sportsman’s Warehouse (I used to duck hunt in it before I became such an obsessive cyclist). I figured I could “get by” just fine…of course, that’s when I was just playing around and didn’t care too much about going faster. Haha…and so it goes.
When you are doin’ a little fat bike snow racing it makes a world of difference to have a great shoe that can clip in! AND then there’s the pedals…
In this cycling tips video I discuss the shoes I like to wear (Lake 303) and the difference between using a flat pedal and a pedal that you can clip into. When choosing what pedal you want to use you’ll want to consider what you are trying to accomplish (racing or just having some fun riding?) and what pedal you’ll feel most confident in.
